Electro-Sensors, Inc. announces the release of new ION Modbus Network Nodes to simplify remote sensor installation and help to save on wiring costs. IONs are available with 12 analog inputs or 6 discrete inputs and 6 relay outputs making them ideal for remote data acquisition and machinery control applications. Input and sensor power terminals are mis-wire and short-circuit protected.
Directly connecting to PLCs, touchscreens and PCs, these devices offer high data throughput with less than 1 mS latency. LED status indicators provide clear, visual indication of power, communication and fault conditions to ensure you are always aware of your system’s status. Pluggable terminal blocks for power input, isolated 2-wire RS485 network port, sensor connection (including 24Vdc protected sensor power outputs) and relay outputs make wiring and installation minimal and easy.
Analog Input Node (AIN) Features
• Read up to 12 (4-20mA) analog output sensors such as bearing temperature, belt alignment, belt or shaft speed.
• Read up to 372 (4-20mA) analog output sensors in one network (full network of 31 AIN nodes)
Discrete Input/Output Node (DIO) Features
• Read up to 6 switches or discrete output sensors such as panel and limit switches or proximity sensors
• Read up to 186 switches or discrete output sensors (full network of 31 DIO nodes)
